Special events are on-campus program that are so large that they warrant a separate budget.

Special event occur in the Spring, funding is determined in the Fall semester following a special hearing.

Special Allocations are voted on by the RUSA voting body as its own legislation.

Special Events meet 3 of the 4 criteria:

a. Annual event that has funded as a Special Event at least three times in the past five years.

b. Must have at least one co-sponsorship from an academic or administrative department or outside company. This cosponsorship must be equal or greater than 20% of the proposed total cost of the event.

c. A total event cost of over $17,000.00 and accommodating a minimum of 250 people.

d. Co-sponsorship by seven or more campus groups.


Application to attend the hearing can be found at this link. It will open on Friday, September 6th at 9:00pm and close on Friday, October 4th at 10:00pm.

The hearing will take place Monday, October 7th at 7:00pm at the Cap and Skull Room in the CASC . All organizations will be sent appointment confirmations on a rolling basis at a minimum of 48 hours before their scheduled appointment. Attendance is mandatory.
